* Tried connecting via LAN - no problems the issues are only when connected via wireless. * disabling windows firewall - no change. * disabling power save features on the wireless driver - am using high performance battery setting and set wireless settings to max performance even on battery also disable turning off this device in the wireless card's properties from device manager - no I uninstalled and rebooted when trying each. * changing the driver: have used 1) driver that installs on upgrade (based on the version, I believe it's the same as the vista driver) 2) windows 7 driver from my laptop maker (MSI) 3) driver from intel (slightly newer than MSI). If I disable and then re-enable the connection, the packet loss goes down to 0% and the connection is fine for a time. Ran a connection test on and likewise got high packet loss and jitter. Hop to the router and on all received data.
